SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS....

Today was Fiona's first vaccination day!!

I will warn you...today was probably harder on Jamie and I than our daughter. Don't get me wrong, she cried and wanted snuggled, but I wanted to WEEP. She was a total rock star. After about an hour of snuggling and feeding at home, she was back to playing and smiling. I think she is probably just very mature for her age;)

My little peanut sleeping in the car after her appointment.

In other news, tomorrow I start to get old. I will officially be in my late 20's tomorrow. However, with a great husband and wonderful daughter to share my birthday with, I feel extremely lucky. I'm hopeful that 26 will be just as great as the last few years.

Ok, now let's talk about baby weight. I am a bit of a TV junkie (as I'm sure most of you know) and that includes the awards shows. If you haven't noticed, all the stars who are new moms seem to end up thinner and more vibrant than they were before baby just weeks after giving birth. Here is my question to them: WHAT IS YOUR SECRET? I have found that it really just comes down to healthy eating and working out (well, for me...I know for some people it is easy as pie). Boring but true...Here is what I think about those famous ladies. SPANKS. That's right...I'm on to you Hollywood.

My BIG GIRL!!

First let me just say this...

WHEN DID MY BABY GET SO BIG?!?!

I swear, I looked at her the other day and WHAMO! She had gotten bigger overnight. Jamie and I tried to weigh her at home and we are pretty sure she is about 10.5 lbs. Tomorrow she will be a whopping 9 weeks and today is officially her 2 month mark. Holey smokes...time flies.

She is just about the cutest thing in the world...even if she does still get up in the middle of the night. Waking up to that face is still the best thing ever.

She is constantly babbling, laughing and smiling now which is pretty great. It's always nice to walk up to her after a nap and have her smile that big, toothless grin at me.

As an update, she and Gizmo are finally starting to see eye to eye. She could basically care less that he's around and Giz usually makes it his mission to sit by her crib, bouncer, swing, whatever she happens to be in at the moment. I think he secretly believes he is her protector.

I think that any day now she will probably be holding her head up on her own. She's been really trying for quite some time now...and it's just a matter of time.

I know I haven't been blogging a lot lately, but every time I am about to...she needs me. As it turns out this being a mother thing is definitely a 24 hour gig, haha ;) And really...when she is sleeping on my chest and just wants to snuggle...why in the world would I want to do anything else? I take advantage of every single one of those moments and I'm glad I have that opportunity.

Well, until next time!

Rockin' and strollin'

Yesterday was another wonderfully WARM day (I think it got up to 60 degrees again!) so Jamie, Fiona and I went for a nice, long walk outside. Late in the afternoon we got her all bundled up, strapped her in her stroller and we were off!

It was warm and beautiful out which made me wish for spring even more. But then again, that would be wishing away her newborn days and I definitely do not want to do that. She has her screaming, crying moments of course (anyone who tells you that their baby was an angel from day one and never cried is lying...I promise) but in the last week or so she has been awake much more and is starting to settle in to somewhat of a routine. She even coos and laughs sometimes which is probably the cutest thing ever. I say "somewhat of a routine" because sometimes we get into a groove and then BAM! she goes through another growing period and she's eating every hour. Ahhh...the life of a newborn.

Back to the walk. She loved it. It was an instant baby whisperer. She and I have also been able to hang out in the backyard a little bit this week in the warm weather and she seems to enjoy that too. I can't wait until it's this nice all the time!

So, after our walk Fiona seemed a little pooped. I guess all that sightseeing around the neighborhood really tuckered her out.
Napping after her walk!
So, I promised I would share some favorite pictures and I am finally making good on that promise. Enjoy!
Snoozing on daddy...

She received this t-shirt from my OB yesterday and couldn't wait to show it off!
One of my favorite pics of all time! Here she is during morning playtime around 6 weeks.
