Well, I am hanging with Fiona and I find myself with yet another UWS on my clothing. What is a UWS you ask? UWS stands for Unidentified Wet Spot.
I find myself with these more often than not these days. They come in many shapes and sizes and I find myself caring less and less about them.
I assume you are completely disgusted and yet intrigued at the moment so I'll continue. As a new mom, I find myself with a UWS at least once a day. Today, I find one on my leggings and I think...hmm...this could be milk, formula, spit up or yes, you guessed it...something that escaped from Fiona's diaper.
These often happen when we are on our way out the door to the doctor or somewhere where we will have to see other adults. Before baby (BB) I would have changed immediately and made sure I looked respectable. Now, I run out the door with weirdness on me. So far, no one has judged me...to my face.
Today, I assume it is milk on my leggings because it seems Fiona is still as dry as a newborn can be.
I also assume that this is something other new moms understand and deal with. Being covered in puke or formula just comes with the job. If not, I am officially a disgusting, revolting mommy.
The adorable little one makes this all worth it, and I find myself finding humor in all of this grossness. That's right, I actually laugh at how dirty I am. I hope you do too....if not...please don't make fun. Or at least have the decency to do it behind my back.
Fiona says hello, she is currently dreaming in her baby bed. Ahhh the life of a newborn!
I'll share some of my favorite pictures soon...I have probably taken enough of her in her first month of life to fill an entire full sized album. It's only fair I share a few with you, my few loyal readers:)

I am one lucky mother
I hope you found my title as funny as I did...I really outdid myself there.
So as we inch closer to Fiona's one month mark, I realize my days and weeks seem to fly by quicker than ever now that she is here. I am clearly too busy soaking in her adorable newborn days. I meant to blog on Monday and now somehow it is Thursday already. I am happy to report that she is growing like a weed and is more and more smiley and alert each day. Sometimes "alert" means screaming at me or farting so loud it wakes us up...never the less...I'm glad she's awake a little more often so I can see her beautiful blue eyes. Yep, she's currently a blue eyed baby so we will see if that changes.
So this week we had some poop issues. By that I mean, I have woken up to diarrhea diapers since Sunday and it's not because she cries...they stink...I mean this poop means business. So yesterday we made a visit to the doc to make sure everything is still peachy in the health department (yes, she's still perfectly healthy) and we got some good news. The doctor said she is a cute newborn. Now this is something I obviously already knew, but she said, "I'm objective. Some babies aren't cute, but she's a cute newborn."
Ahhh the true seal of approval. I, of course was always sure she was the cutest baby in the world, and now it is confirmed. Back off pageant moms, here comes Fiona.
In other news, since the weather has been unseasonably warm up until today we were able to take Fiona on her first walk on Friday. It only lasted about 5 min but I think she liked it. And I can't wait for spring when we can take more walks.
Well, I'm pumping because breast feeding didn't work so well so I'm off to milk myself. Moo...

We have a daughter!!
Well we obviously had our little Fiona! I'll get to the big birth story another day, but today I just thought I'd gush a little about her first few weeks. After only one rough night where she cried pretty much all night, she has been an amazing, calm baby since. She has had two doctor appointments and has put on weight since she left the hospital which is great news! SHe is still a tiny one but she is healthy so that's great. So after just over two weeks, here are some things I love about her and things I want to share.
1. She likes to sleep with her hands by her face or above her head. Very cute...she is just living the life.
2. She makes little noises in her sleep. You can tell when she is dreaming because she makes little faces. However...she might just be pooping or have gas...either way it's fun to see her faces.
3. She looks a lot like her daddy!
4. I feel like she has already changed. She has gotten bigger, her feet look longer, and she is smiling more and more.
5. She loves to be held. Sometimes, she cries just because she wants someone to snuggle her. See? She is soooo my daughter...
These days she eats pretty much all the time. If she isn't sleeping, she is usually hungry. I think the experts call this cluster feeding. Sometimes she eats a lot, sometimes she eats a tiny but it's definitely on her terms. I'm not sure what people mean when they talk about their baby's schedule. We currently don't have one. Right now, we are at a nap time so I have time to blog just a little. She is probably the cutest thing in the whole world. I may be biased, but my suspicion is that others think she is pretty cute too.
Well I'll blog more later and even share some pictures but right now I need to attend to my little girl. Happy new year!
